The man from Spain (or Turkey?) has come a long long way
Together with his helpers he came over here to stay.
Some weeks he spends in Holland-land to please a lot of kids
with twenty million gifts and sweets and useless bloody gifts.
You also ought to write a rhyme for someone but you'll get
A rhyme back from the other one, that's mocking you to death.
So what's the fun in this you ask, the joy of this event?
It's two weeks close to christmas but that's not what I meant.
There is a thing called "Pepernoot" do you know what that is?
Once you have tasted "pepernoten" you'll be in love with this.
So no december cosiness, no gifts and not one song...
Just give some damn "pepernoten" and I will go along.

Well, that was my pre-rhyme for the big eve'nin...
Yesterday I baked some "pepernoten" with Fien, who I babysit regularly.
They were horrible, but we decorated them and just licked that off...
The "pepernoten" dissappeared in the trash.
At least the Sinterklaas and Zwarte Piet cookies looked nice...



Take a look at this recipe or this one (for the Dutchies!), and try to make some yourself.
This is a good recipe, not the one I tried ;)
But don't get your hopes up, they will never, EVER be as good as Bolletjes "pepernoten."
